A year ago we were working at Boxer Rescue putting in furnaces to keep those cute doggies warm. This big-hearted bull dog had been languishing for a year, losing hope of ever finding a home. He had been found tied to a post in San Bernardino starved and dehydrated. Scars all over his body and a pancreas problem scared people off.
Here is our facebook post wondering if we should adopt him. Of course we got a resounding “YES!”
But the guys fell in love with him and when we finished the job Rooney jumped in the truck and came home to his forever family.
Now his life is filled with wags and kisses. Rooney spends his days at Kilowatt hanging out with Ellie, Deb & Jessica and greeting the service techs as they come and go. Nights are spent playing with Poppy and Sally, his two dog sisters.
Happy Home-Day Rooney! A little poem (author unknown) in your honor:
My sunshine doesn’t come from skies,
It comes from love in my dog’s eyes.
