Spring is the season when we recommend our customers arrange for their annual air conditioning maintenance. Scheduling this air conditioning service in Los Angeles, CA is the best way to enjoy dependable, energy-efficient cooling during the summer and to extend the AC’s service life.

We want to address a specific step in AC maintenance—one you’ll have to do on your own. It’s regularly changing the air filter. Our technicians will change this filter during maintenance, but you’ll need to follow up and change it regularly during the rest of the year, usually every 1 to 3 months.

AC Maintenance in Spring Is the Best Way to Save Money on Cooling

Monday, March 25th, 2019

We experienced a colder than usual winter here in Southern California. That may sound funny to someone who lives in a part of the country where temperatures are below freezing for most of the season, but it certainly felt cold to us to have temperatures in the high 40s during the day. We’re all eager to get to the warmer weather… and that means some of us may not be planning for it.

We think it’s more important than ever to remind our customers and future customers about scheduling maintenance for their air conditioning systems in spring. Our maintenance plan makes it easy to have this essential job done (we’ll even send you a reminder!), so if you haven’t had a look at what the program offers you, take some time right now. We promise you, it’s worth it!

Spring Reminder: AC Maintenance Is Vital!

Monday, March 26th, 2018

checkmark-greenWe’ve had an unusually cold and rainy end of winter and start of spring. True, our idea of “cold” is mild compared to most other places in the U.S., but you probably got more use out of your heater in the last three weeks than in all of the winter season.

But the hot days are coming—and in Southern California the hot weather means serious business. Having your air conditioner properly maintained in early spring is essential for getting the best from your AC through the middle of the year and into our often hot fall season.

Ways an HVAC Company Can Prep Your House for Hot Weather

Monday, February 26th, 2018

sun-symbolWe just went through a genuine cold spell here in Southern California. Saying that to somebody from the Midwest would probably get laughter or anger. “It was in the 40s at night!” But it’s cold for us, and our homes often don’t have heating systems meant to deal with these conditions for long stretches. (We’re always happy to help boost your home heating if you need it!)

Now, however, we’re heading toward spring and the major heat of summer. The hot weather arrives fast in So. Cal. In fact, it could strike at any moment. Here’s how a Burbank, CA, HVAC contractor can help your home get ready for the big heat during the early spring.

Never Let Those AC Repairs Linger at the End of the Year

Monday, November 6th, 2017

air-conditioner-unit-being-repairedWow, it’s finally cooled down here in Southern California. There was a week there in October when the temperatures were rising above 100°F. We hope your air conditioner was able to keep your home cooled down during this rough pre-Halloween heat wave—and if you did have troubles, we hoped you contacted us to have them fixed.

If you’ve noticed that your AC was having some problems during the recent heat, but it continued to run, you still need to have the system looked at to see what needs to be fixed. Don’t hesitate to schedule air conditioning repair in Van Nuys, CA or elsewhere in our service area at the end of the year. There are some good reasons why you never want these problems to linger over to the next calendar year, even though you don’t think there will be another heat wave coming up in November and December.

🔥 With the Fires You NEED to Change Your HVAC Filters Now! 🔥

Friday, September 8th, 2017

An important air filter reminder!

Over the weekend, immense brush fires in Los Angeles County burned almost 6,000 acres. Aside from the damages, the fire caused, it also sent huge amounts of smoke and ash into the sky. This will likely have affected the air filter in your home’s HVAC system, leaving soot and dust deposits inside it. This debris not only restricts airflow for the HVAC system, it’s potentially unhealthy for the people in your household!

Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers for Spring

Monday, April 17th, 2017

*Kilowatt Heating, Air Conditioning and Electrical no longer services whole-home humidifiers. For a full list of our indoor air quality services, please visit our website.

blonde-woman-and-fanThe temperatures in Southern California haven’t reached summer levels yet, although we’ve experienced a sprinkling of days above 85°F (hotter if you live farther inland). This is a time when we encourage all of our customers to prep their home cooling systems for the mid-year heat waves. It’s something we’ve brought up in recent posts, and whether you need to schedule regular air conditioning maintenance or you know it’s time to have a new AC system installed, now is the ideal time to act.

Today we want to focus on a factor, aside from the heat, that affects indoor comfort: humidity levels. The Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas swing between different humidity levels through spring and summer, and extremes on both ends aren’t enjoyable. But we offer solutions: installing a whole-house dehumidifier and/or humidifier.

A Few Things to Consider when It’s Time to Replace Your Air Conditioner

Monday, April 3rd, 2017

Spring and summer both arrive early here in Southern California. Or perhaps it’s better to say that winter never really arrives, only a short period of cooling off with some scattering of rain showers. (Admittedly, one of those “scatterings” of rainfall this time was a massive downpour that caused flooding. That’s going to happen every once in a great while.) Because of how fast our weather warms up toward the high heat of summer, there isn’t a bad time to make the choice to install a new air conditioning system in Beverly Hills, CA or elsewhere in Los Angeles or the San Fernando Valley. But spring is still arguably the best season for the job, since it puts an AC into place in time for the biggest part of its workload.

If you think your home is ready for a new AC this spring, we have some advice and a few things to think about. Making the process easier is as simple as contacting our team: the sooner you have us involved, the better your air conditioning replacement will go.
