Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers for Spring

blonde-woman-and-fanThe temperatures in Southern California haven’t reached summer levels yet, although we’ve experienced a sprinkling of days above 85°F (hotter if you live farther inland). This is a time when we encourage all of our customers to prep their home cooling systems for the mid-year heat waves. It’s something we’ve brought up in recent posts, and whether you need to schedule regular air conditioning maintenance or you know it’s time to have a new AC system installed, now is the ideal time to act.

Today we want to focus on a factor, aside from the heat, that affects indoor comfort: humidity levels. The Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas swing between different humidity levels through spring and summer, and extremes on both ends aren’t enjoyable. But we offer solutions: installing a whole-house dehumidifier and/or humidifier.

April 2017 Employee of the Month – Alfonso Ramos

Alfonso is the first person ever hired by Kilowatt so, truly our #1 employee. For a long time it was just Dean and Alfonso, out in the field, doing the jobs themselves. Alfonso was the best apprentice Dean ever had and over the years he became the best lead installer, service technician and human resources department all rolled into one. When they needed help Alfonso’s brothers, brother-in-law, and now Alfonso’s son Damien joined the crew.

A Few Things to Consider when It’s Time to Replace Your Air Conditioner

Spring and summer both arrive early here in Southern California. Or perhaps it’s better to say that winter never really arrives, only a short period of cooling off with some scattering of rain showers. (Admittedly, one of those “scatterings” of rainfall this time was a massive downpour that caused flooding. That’s going to happen every once in a great while.) Because of how fast our weather warms up toward the high heat of summer, there isn’t a bad time to make the choice to install a new air conditioning system in Beverly Hills, CA or elsewhere in Los Angeles or the San Fernando Valley. But spring is still arguably the best season for the job, since it puts an AC into place in time for the biggest part of its workload.
